Reconciliation

The sacrament of Reconciliation celebrates God’s forgiveness in our life through the individual celebrating the sacrament with a priest in which the person confesses their sins, receives and completes a penance, and is forgiven through the prayer of absolution. Children of the Catholic Faith celebrate the sacrament of First Reconciliation around the age of seven and the preparation for the sacrament is given in the second grade parish religious education program and at St. Mary’s Grade School. First Reconciliation is scheduled in the winter for the English and Hispanic communities.

The sacrament of Reconciliation is celebrated regularly at Sacred Heart Cathedral. Confessions are offered on Friday mornings from 7:30 AM to 7:50 AM, Saturday from 4:30 PM to 5:20 PM and in Spanish from 6:30 PM to 7:15 PM, Sunday from 10:00 AM to 10:20 AM and in Spanish from 12:00 PM to 12:20 PM. An individual may also contact the priest to set up a time for the sacrament of Reconciliation.
